What is Read 180?
Read 180 is an intervention program for students who are below grade level in reading and/or writing. This program is designed to help students increase reading fluency and accuracy, and writing skills. I'm from Seattle, Washington and this is my third year teaching at this school. I decided to teach reading because I feel that I can relate to students who think it's boring, or too difficult to understand. When I was younger, it was tough for me too. Outside of school you will find me learning how to cook, spending time with my friends and family, or working at a local health club. |

Mr. Franz is a native desert child who attended CC Elementary, Nellie N. Coffman and Palm Springs High. He started college at COD and transferred to Washington State and graduated with a BA in both Drama and Education. He is currently finishing a Masters of Arts degree in Language Arts with Specialist Credential. Mr. Franz is a proud father of 4 children: Sebastian 11, Tristan and Taylor 1, and Lyla 5 months. Mr. Franz teaches Drama and Creative Writing and also is the student advisor for the after school Drama Club. This is his 10th year with JWMS and has loved every minute of it! |
