Ms. Heathers Rogers
Hi there! I am Heather Rogers, a new High Point teacher here at James Workman. I am from Huntington Beach, California, a city that I love very much. In 2002, I graduated from CSU Long Beach with a degree in history and went on to finish my credential/masters program. I love to be outside, travel, spend time with my friends, family and dog (little Roo-Roo), and most of all, EAT!!!
My time here in the desert has been great so far. I couldn't be more proud of my students and feel lucky to have such a great group of kids here at JWMS! |

Mr.
Rufino Cuevas
My
name is Rufino Cuevas and I am a teavher here at James
Workman Middle School. I currently teach the HighPoint program
to English Learner (ELD) students. At this point, many of my students
do not speak English very well, but I hope to change that by the
end of the
school year.
Outside of James Workman, I have a BIG
Mexican family. I have my wife (Mayra) and my son (Elijah), whom
I adore. There is my brother Steve; and then of course, a
ton of tios and
tias,
and cousins,
and inlaws…I have a big family.
Besides
my family, I was in the Army for a few years. While in the Army I did
a little bit traveling and
went to school. I am originally from
the Los Angeles area. Actually, I just moved to the Coachella Valley in
January. I hope to keep teaching for a few more years, but I also hope
to be an assistant principal somewhere (maybe here?) within a few
years…Oh,
and I'm pretty friendly guy. So if you see me around, make sure
you say “Hi.”
