My name is Jon Liu and I am a Teacher and the Yearbook Adviser at Desert Hot
Springs High School. Our yearbook students have been presented with a once in a
lifetime opportunity to travel to Columbia University in New York for the 84th Annual
CSPA Columbia Scholastic Convention this March.
Many of my students come from low-income households and cannot afford the
growing costs of traveling across the country. We are currently seeking sponsors to
help cover the travel expenses of our students and I would like to know if you have any
education or community outreach programs in place for this type of request. The total
expenses are anticipated to be $10,540 for 10 students to attend.
Our sponsorship guidelines are outlined as follows...
- Golden Eagle Sponsor = $1000+ financial contribution
- Silver Eagle Sponsor = $500 monetary or in-kind contributions or services
- Bronze Eagle Sponsor = $200 monetary or in-kind contributions or services
- DHSHS Supporter = $100 minimum contribution
- Donations of any amount will be accepted
I realize that you must receive hundreds of request exactly like this each year, but this
is the one and only time these students will have this opportunity. In return for your
sponsorship, we will be thanking our sponsors in a special advertising section in the
2008 DHSHS Yearbook, with special recognition certificates, and all sponsors will be
recognized in any press releases and media recognition covering the trip.
Please review and consider our request carefully and if you have any questions do not
hesitate to call or e-mail me directly. Our deadline for funding and paying our travel
expenses is March 14th, 2008. Donations can be made out and sent directly to Desert
Hot Springs High School.
