Mr. Bystrzycki has been a resident of Desert Hot Springs since he was in high school. He has been teaching for 11 years, 5 of those years here at Desert Hot Springs High School. Mr. Bystrzycki is a Nationally Board Certified teacher (2003) and has a master’s degree in mathematics. He is currently the math coach and has been teaching Calculus for the past 4 years. He also teaches math classes for the College of the Desert.





After serving in the navy during the Viet-Nam conflict, Mr. Olver returned to school and received his B.S. degree from California Polytechnic State University (Cal-Poly) in San Luis Obispo. Upon completing the requirements for his Clear Credential, he taught for twenty-five years in Washington State. He returned to California and taught in Thousand Oaks for one year and then moved to the desert to begin teaching at DHSHS in August of 2000. Since his return to California, he completed his M.A. through California State University, San Bernardino. He is the current chair of the Math Department - a position which he accepted in 2006. Having been born in England and coaching high school soccer for twenty three years, he is an avid soccer aficionado.
