MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL CHAVEZ

Dear Students,

On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration, I would like to welcome you to a new academic year at Cathedral City High School. We are proud to serve over 2,800 students that attend.

I am pleased to announce a strong academic gain in our Academic Performance Index (API) this year. CCHS increased by 34 points this year to obtain a score of 722. Please take a look at the chart on this web page to review the consistent progress that CCHS students have made over the past five years.

Due to the efforts of dedicated teachers, support personnel, parents and community, Cathedral City High School is succeeding and our students are graduating at higher numbers. Our success is backed up by the data which shows a current graduation rate of 93.8% and our dropout rate of 5.1%.

High School is what you make of it and I encourage all of our students to get involved in the many opportunities that are offered you as you go through high school. Whether it be an academy, pathway, athletics, music or a club, it will only enrich your life to participate.

Again, welcome to Cathedral City High School and I wish you a great school year.

Sincerely,

Guillermo Chavez
Principal
